Jayson Stark of ESPN reports that the A’s could be interested in signing Carlos Delgado, if they could clear some salary and/or roster space.

Yeah, right. And I’m the tooth fairy.

A slightly more realistic rumor is that the A’s might be interested in acquiring Mike Cameron, who became expendable after the Mets signed Carlos Beltran to play CF.

There’s one thing about Billy Beane: once he decides he likes a guy, he never seems to give up trying to get him. (See: Erubiel Durazo, Kirk Saarloos, Jack Cust.) The A’s tried very hard to sign Cameron as a free agent last year, so we know Cameron has the official Billy Beane Stamp Of Approval
