I Call Sexson Babe’s Lad

He worships Seattle-based dessert food:
“Thornton secretive cake.”
Adrian Beltre cuts off other bread bins,
And darn never eats chicken.
Brilliantly Boone burps egg flour chunks,
Managing to eat it in bold haiku-
Winn hath wrought thy butter, Olivo eats bread:
“Thornton secretive cake.”
1. Bonus points to anyone who can figure out what this is.
2. Using my incredible deductive skills, I have figured out that this is a posting by the Score Bard of May 13. I am attempting to deduce more.
3. I know! I know! It's a secret plot to make me lose my mind.
4. To be fair, I shouldn't have put a comma in the next-to-last line.
5. Adrian Beltre Cuts...that's A B C. Don't know if that's relevant though.
6. It isn't.
7. Twice in the first line, and once in the third and seventh, the last letter of one word is the first letter of the following one. Again, guessing this is not necessarily relevant.
8. In Greene's Vision, the phrase "hath wrought thy bitter" appears.
9. Neither relevant. This is one of those things that if you get any part of it, you'll probably figure out the whole thing.
There aren't really any hidden hints in the above text, but I left a couple elsewhere on the Toaster.
10. "Thornton secretive cake" is an anagram of "Tinker to Evers to Chance."
The repetition of that line caught my eye, and although the rhythm is not exactly that of the original poem, it still was enough to start my thoughts in that direction.
11. I should point out that the rhythm seems off to me and is probably not wrong - I, as a first time poster, don't want to come off as overly critical.
12. Bonus points to Patrick85!
These are line-by-line anagrams of "Baseball's Sad Lexicon" aka "Tinker to Evers to Chance."
One thing that I learned doing this: the fourth line is has the word "and" instead of "to".
As for the rhythm being off, well...it was hard enough just coming up with anagrams.
13. That's really impressive, especially since you've been able relate everything to the Mariners. Again, sorry about my rhythm comments; had I known that the entire poem was anagrams, I would have not even mentioned it.
14. The Mariners and food. Huzzah, Score Bard!
15. So is this an attempt at besting Ken at Catfish Stew on the food front? :)
16. Gracie--
Have you seen Ken in the same room with the Scorebard. Coincidence? I think not!
Tom
17. I've seen neither of them anywhere. Except in the pictures Ken posted of himself at the DQ.
So the answer to your question is no (unless it's 42), and I don't think it's a coincidence either.
