1. I know why instantly because the blogger in question is my pal Jay Jaffe. I'll avoid spoiling it any further.
2. I'm glad I didn't end up answering the riddle because I think it was like the Riddle of the Syphinx and it would lead to all sorts of antisocial behavior on my part. Especially since my mother is dead.
3. Even though I couldn't do Final Humbugardy, as I had 0 points, I still enjoyed this immensely. Thanks, Scorebard - and when do we do this again?
4. i take great comfort in knowing my score was higher than bob's, and that nobody got the final one right.
ps. the final question's a good story :)
5. If I had bet zero, I would have won.
6. I found the question, and laughed out loud:) I'd read it before and forgotten. I second that it's a fantastic story.
7. Finding the answer to that question requires you to think not just outside the box but outside the condiment bar.
8. 5. would that be a "first-to-wurst" scenario?
9. I tend to wonder if I would have gotten it had the second line of the clue been "Speaking of wurst" rather than "worst." Impossible to say, but I didn't have enough points to win anyway.
