2007 Photo Outtakes: The Marco Effect

While we ponder for a moment the concept of an Angels GM who actually makes a trade, and consider the likelihood that this trade is a precursor to another Angels trade, and wonder what all this means for the future of the AL West, we’ll pause to remember a happy moment that came courtesy our old departed friend, Marco Scutaro.
1. I was at that game, sitting field level on the third base side. Scoot's ball went right over my head. I'll always remember the way it was heading right for the foul pole, and we were just pleading for it to stay fair. The ball hit the netting, and the stadium was totally silent as it fell to the ground--a moment of sheer disbelief from 35,000 fans. When it landed on the warning track, we went batshit crazy.
That's pretty much my only good memory from last season.
2. 1 Are you in the picture?
"Sheer disbelief" is right. Honestly, the thought of Scutaro hitting a home run right there had not even crossed my mind. It was totally, totally stunning. Just before the pitch, a couple of Yankee fans who were sitting next to me were telling each other what a nice win it was, and how they'd only be a half game out, blah blah blah...and then, pow! Next thing I knew, they were gone.
